Postoperative Bracing

After repair of your ruptured Achilles tendon, the repair is often tentative, relying on stitches through very damaged tissues.

Postoperative Bracing thus becomes very important

Traditionally you would be placed in a plaster cast for 8 to 12 weeks. After this you require a lengthy rehabilitation to recover from the profound stiffness and muscle wasting. Modern Postoperative Bracing can eliminate this prolonged rehabilitation in most.

Recently we have started using the Vacoped brace.

An Achilles tendon rupture is a significant injury, which will have a definite impact on your life style.

We have tried to limit this as much as possible with  a more pleasant rehabilitation
