Arthroscopic picture of a torn ACL- the ligament stump is often referred to as a Cyclops lesion.

Reconstruction begins with a small incision to the inside of the leg to harvested the tendons.

60.jpg (12914 bytes)

  The tendons are exposed.

67.jpg (16155 bytes)

They are then stripped with a tendon stripper.

75.jpg (12191 bytes)

Stitches are then applied to the tendon.

The prepared graft is then sized, to determine the size of the bony tunnels. This finalises the graft preparation. We then proceed to the arthroscopic preparation of the knee.
