Weight Bearing X-Rays of the Knee.

 

These x-rays are performed with you standing (thus are weight bearing), with your knees slightly bent.

 

From these x-rays, the joint space can be seen to be very narrowed on the inside (medial side) of the left knee (labelled with the L). In fact the joint space here is narrowed to nothing, demonstrating complete loss of joint space and therefore complete erosion of the cartilage down to bone. This is now advanced arthritis.
