Risks and possible complications of surgery

With small orthopaedic surgical procedures, complications such as  such as infection, wound healing problems,  nerve injury, blood vessel injury are possible but fortunately quite rare.

Stiffness of the shoulder joint, called a frozen shoulder is a relatively rare, though can cause pain and stiffness for many months.

Persistent pain can occur, and arthritis to this joint after injury is possible and may require further surgery.

Following  repair or reconstruction of the AC Joint, the inability to obtain or maintain a durable reduction of the joint, pain, and the need for revision surgery may occur.
