A progress chart may be of some help

While your shoulder is healing, passive motion is necessary to prevent unwanted scar tissue formation. Passive motion means that the shoulder is moved, but not under its own power.

There are only two main exercises we want you to perform after you have undergone rotator cuff repair surgery.

These exercises must be comfortable for you-if you have problems doing them comfortably, let us know. Your operated shoulder is moved by your other hand while the muscles of the operated shoulder are completely relaxed.

You should perform these exercises four times a day and with each series of exercises, you should try to gradually improve on the range of movement each time.

Do not try and push too hard or do too many repetitions.

These passive motion exercises are continued until approximately 6 weeks after surgery
