Surgery For The Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

And Rotator Cuff Tears

The Impingement Syndrome
Shoulder Arthroscopy and Subacromial Decompression

You will need to understand a little of the anatomical terms such as bursa, acromion etc so please surf the anatomy sites if required

Causes of Impingement and Rotator Cuff Tears.

The rotator cuff tendon is the only tendon which runs between 2 bones, the ball (head) of the humerus and the acromion.

The subacromial bursa  and the rotator cuff tendon gets “squashed” between the ball of the humerus and the acromion

The bursa is tissue to provide lubrication between the rubbing tendon and bone

Eventually this rubbing causes a cuff tear
